A convenient car park with a picnic area, a pleasant circular walk passing the French tidal mill, the castle and the ancient Carew cross makes this an attractive and interesting spot to spend a day. A pair of swans are often to be seen on the lake, sadly not around when I was there.

The Carew Inn opposite is always a good place for lunch.
